Update 4 Jul 20

"Church Lane in Cold Higham is now complete there is however some tarmac reinstatement to take place which will be done early next week, but the village is mainly complete now.

We are also looking to get back onto Mill Lane and Penthorne close from the 13th July providing NCC highways allow us the road space this shouldn't be an issue, but I will let you know again once I have a confirmed date."

Update 26 Jun 20

Message from Gigaclear about Grimscote:

"The contractors you see this morning are working from Mill Lane, Grimscote going in towards Litchborough, as I have a different lot of contractors doing the Litchborough build.

They will have 2 way lights up but this shouldn't affect Mill lane and the village of Grimscote as we are moving away from your village heading to Litchborough.

For the work we need to complete on Mill Lane/Penthrorne Close we have had to submit new road space notices to NCC to be agreed, when we have these agreed and I know we are coming back I will be sure to let you."

Update 20 Jun 20

Message from Gigaclear:

"Yes at the minute everything is closed up in Grimscote, it took our contractors a little longer then expected to complete all the works in village, but we are hoping to be back in Grimscote within the next 2-3weeks depending on road space notices being granted with NCC next week. This will include penthrorne close and the rest of mill lane.
Church lane has been progressing really well, and all the residents have been very accommodating given the tight space, so I thank them for making it easier for us, we are hoping to be finished here end of next week.Thank you.Kind Regards

Update 1 Apr 20

During these unprecedented times, I wanted to write to you about the work being undertaken in your community to provide residents and businesses with full fibre broadband from Gigaclear.

Gigaclear provides essential internet access services to communities across rural Britain. The Governments 'Key Worker' policy includes utilities and those in the telecoms sector in addition to NHS and emergency services front line staff – amongst others.

Our operation is building and operating a full fibre broadband network to rural areas in England. Never has connectivity been so important within the communities we have built to. Following guidance to take additional precautions and physical distancing, Gigaclear employees and contractors are continuing work in communities where it is safe to do so.

Our customers rely upon our infrastructure and service to keep them connected so that they can work effectively from home, access key public services and continue to educate their children during school closures.

Site teams have been instructed to observe physical distancing guidelines where practical (as advised by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport) but may need to carry out certain activities and operations where this may not always be possible in order to continue to provide this vital service without disruption.

We will adhere to government advice by continuing our work to provide connected communities. We are also working to help raise awareness about how important our work is – especially now and will be writing to all residents in communities where we are actively building. Please see attached a copy of the letter we will be sending for your reference.

As I write to you, our intention is to carry on with our activities maintaining, building and installing new customers on our network, however, as you will appreciate the situation and guidance changes and we will follow Government advice. More information can be found on our website here: www.gigaclear.com/news/coronavirus

Update 2 Mar 20

Ultrafast Broadband is coming to the Parish

As part of the Superfast Northamptonshire initiative to improve rural connectivity, Gigaclear, in partnership with Northamptonshire County Council, will be bringing ultrafast full fibre broadband to Pattishall, Fosters Booth, Grimscote and Cold Higham.

Ultrafast speeds of up to 900Mbs will be available later this year to all households and businesses included in the build programme.

Every home due to receive a connection will be notified in advance of the work commencing to lay the fibre cables to points of termination (connection points) that will be positioned at the boundary of each property on public land. Once this is installed and live, if you then want to take advantage of ultrafast broadband, you will have a choice of internet service providers, including Gigaclear, who can provide the service into your property.

The work is due to start in the next few weeks with the initial phase commencing on Butchers Lane w/c 16th March 2020. This will mean some disruption in the local area while the contractors lay the cables. This will include traffic management at the A5/Butchers Lane junction at times, and digging across driveways.

The fibre cables must be buried in the ground and any public areas impacted by the installation will be fully reinstated in line with statutory regulations and in partnership with the local highways authority.

It is anticipated that the installation will take around 4 - 5 months depending on weather conditions and other utility work taking place in the area.

The Gigaclear team are committed to keeping us fully informed, so expect more information through the post soon. If you have any specific questions about the work Gigaclear will be doing, please send them to networkbuildcare@gigaclear.com or call 01865 591137.
