Three Men Charged Over Illegal Sheep Butchery Offences

Three men have been charged with conspiracy to steal over a series of illegal sheep butchery offences across Northamptonshire this summer.

Robert Iordan, aged 23, Florin Nutu, aged 35, and Voirel Manu, aged 38, all from Birmingham, are charged with conspiracy to steal in relation to the slaughter and illegal butchery of sheep and lambs between June 22, 2019, and October 7, 2019.

Two Men Arrested As Part of Investigation Into Illegal Sheep Butchery

Northamptonshire Police have arrested two men on suspicion of offences linked to its ongoing Operation Stock investigation into incidents of illegal sheep butchery.

Street Lights Update

The street lights on Banbury Lane and within Grimscote will be replaced on Monday 30th September.

There is still no news about when the Church Lane works will be carried out, or when the light on Litchborough Rd will be replaced.

HGV Damage in Grimscote

Last December an HGV caused considerable damage to verges in Grimscote village. The PC made representations to Northants Highways with a view to erecting signs warning HGV drivers that Manor Road at this point was unsuitable for their vehicles. Highways agreed to try and find some money in the new budget round for such signs, but the PC heard in August that funding would not be forthcoming.

Two new web sites, one for West Northamptonshire and one for North Northamptonshire, have been launched to carry news about the Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) programme. The planned replacement of the street light on Litchborough Road has had to be delayed. It will now not take place on 25th September as intended.

New Street Lights Update

The contracts for new street lights have been placed by the PC, but there has been a recent change to the plan. We discovered that Western Power are planning to replace most/all of the electricity poles on Church Lane some time next year. All our street lights in Church Lane are on these poles.
