Tree planting

An Appeal from South Northants Council

We have set a target to increase the number of trees in the district, this year, by 92,515; one for every resident. Unfortunately, we do not own enough land to plant all these on our own estate and so we are looking for anyone who owns an area of land that they would be happy to have trees planted on. We are looking at various funding options to support tree planting in the district but cannot proceed with these until we know which areas will be available for planting. Please get in touch via:

climatechange@southnorthants.gov.uk

if you have any land you think would be suitable, big or small, and please spread this request to anyone else.

Although no actual planting would take place until November at the earliest (the start of the planting season) funding applications, tree sourcing and planting planning can take several months and so work needs to start on this now.

If you are planning your own tree planting projects, please let us know so that we can keep track of increased tree cover in the district and make sure that any other planting projects don't interfere with yours.
